New Functionality and what has changed in this version of DocRead

  • DocRead document context menu options (Reading Requirements and DocRead Settings) now fully working in SharePoint 2019
  • DocRead document context menu options now available in the standard SharePoint document webparts.
  • Faster loading DocRead task reading webparts
  • Fixed potential concurrency issues that may prevent the DocRead task reading webpart from loading.
  • DocRead Publishing and Expiry dates can now be easily cleared
  • Survey Requests fully working in SharePoint 2019
  • Issue with Notification Scheduler settings being cleared when opened by a user with no permissions over SQL have been fixed

  • In some rare situations DocRead can save an obfuscated stack trace when reporting errors which can corrupt the SharePoint object store.
  • In some cases Publishing and Expiry dates display the wrong dates when saved in a site configured for EST.

  • Charting solution was targeting SharePoint 2016 which was causing deployment errors on SharePoint 2010 and 2013 (bug introduced on previous release).
  • Installer was disabling Charting  Web Part feature during the installation.

This is a minor release with bug fixes. 

Bug Fixes

  • DocRead expiry date does not work when tasks are processed by the timer job. 
  • DocRead Site Settings page - Error saving settings when user tries to add an empty list. 
  • DocRead Settings page - If jquery is loaded in the master page the column selectors do not work
  • Whenever we add a new list under DocRead settings, it clears the settings for DocRead Site Collection Administrators, DocRead Site Administrators, DocRead Publishers.
  • Trying to activate the DR web feature without activating the web app feature first generates an exception (instead of generating the standard feature dependency error).
  • DB logger throws an exception if we try to log an event without being able to access the DB.

This is a minor release with bug fixes, improvements and added support for SharePoint 2016.

Improvements

  • Added support for SharePoint 2016

DocRead

  • Audience friendly names (name without the provider prefix) are now shown on the DocRead webpart when "Display Friendly Names" option is enabled.
  •  User name is now shown on reading receipts (together with login name).

Bug Fixes

DocRead

  • Changed the way that users are counted so that users that belong to audiences not assigned to any documents (but that have completed task) are not counted for licensing purposes.
  • Cannot create a site from a template saved from a DocRead site
  • Under some circumstances the Reading Required bar is being shown on some pages other than list views.
  • Standard users (non DocRead administrators or Publishers) can have access to the Manage Templates page.
  • Can't get to page 2 on the Manage Templates page.
  • Create template button does not work when the DocSurvey functionality is not enabled.
  • Force view Document does not work on all scenarios.
  • Getting SQL timeout when processing users under some circumstances.

DocSurvey

  • Save and close button is shown on survey when branching is enabled and a user is trying to complete a DocRead task.
  • Under some circumstances users were getting a permissions error after completing a survey.
  • Under some circumstances a duplicate survey entry error was thrown when a user did not have permissions over the survey list.
  • DocRead task does not get updated if enable survey stats is disabled.
  • DocSurvey Quiz Settings page does not save values properly.
